.MOV Film Festival

P3T7 Blondes Think Big from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.
Embed Final Cut, Visual Plan & 3 Behind Scenes
Hello Everyone! Today I have a whole NEW project to talk about! I will be telling you about our new video project. My team is Alexis and Danielle and they are AWESOME! Here are some links to their blogs if your interested...Danielle Gunn and Alexis Chatfield.

Our keywords connect to our audience because they describe our story. If our keywords were stuff like monkey and ice cream they wouldn't work, because they would not DESCRIBE our story. This is important because they can't be random crazy things because then that would not make sense at all. Your audience needs a sense of your story from looking at your keywords. Your keywords need to go with the theme of your story, and work with your story. My keywords will connect to the audience, because they show that our sitcom is very funny, interesting, and fun. They are sort of like a description of our story because they relate to it.

Our overall message for our story is basically don't judge a book by its cover. In our story a nosy news reporter judges blondes for being blonde. This erupts into a crazy daydream in Alexis's mind with blondes doing crazy, laugh out loud actions involving bananas, balloons and more. Eventually the news reporter learns her lesson when Alexis tells her to let blondes be themselves and not judge them for the color of their hair. The news reporter learned a very important lesson that day. Don't judge a book by it's cover!

The biggest challenge overall was schedules. We are all very, very busy. Almost every day I go to swim practice, and Alexis goes to gymnastics pretty much every day. Danielle is also very busy a lot to. We all had to figure out one day where everyone was completely free so Alexis's mom could pick us up after school. We finally settled on Tuesday where we all could film in various places. Another big challenge was location. We had to spend a lot of time deciding where to film the shots and what should go where and so on. We also had to gather all of our props like, bananas, balloons, and a tree.

Anyways, that's all for today. Don't cry, I know you will miss me terribly, but I'll be back with a new story for you. Until next time, bye everyone!

Tiny Spherical Worlds

Hi everybody! I'm back, and I have a whole new project to talk about. Today I will be telling you about Polar and Spherical panoramas.

Composite images are interesting and its nice to have different creative varieties of pictures. There is nothing wrong with taking one photo of something instead of a bunch of different ones and putting them together, but it is nice to have an option. Imagine if there was only one way to take a photo. That would get pretty boring wouldn't it? Also they are interesting to look at and fun to make. Maybe you prefer regular photos, but a lot of people enjoy making composite images. There are many different interesting varieties of photos, and that, itself is very interesting.

One difference between polar and spherical panoramas is that one is like a tiny world, and the other is like a crystal ball that you are looking into. Another difference is that when you are creating a spherical in Photoshop, there is one step that you don't do, unlike when you create a polar which you have to do the step. (The step is rotating the image, if you were wondering.) One more is spherical is more like you are looking at a tiny world, while polar is more like you are in your own tiny world.

My tiny worlds will be convincing because, I will work very hard not to have anything on top but sky. This is important because if you have a tree on top then it could ruin your outer space effect. I will also make sure that I take them at a vertical angle so it is better quality, and works, and functions better.. I will also work hard on editing and using the clone stamp. Also, I will make sure that the horizon line is in the exact middle so my world is not to big or to small, but just right! if your horizon line is on top, your panorama will be too big, and if it at the bottom, it will be to small. I will also make sure my portrait is done right so it looks good, and is good quality.

Well, thats all for now. See you next time!

Hockney Style Joiners

Hi everyone! This time I will be talking about David Hockney. If you don't know who David Hockney is, I will tell you. David Hockney is a famous photographer, painter, and more. A few facts about him are. He was born on July 9 1937, he is 78, and was born in Bridlington, United Kingdom. Hockney does a type of photography called photomontages. Now I will tell you how his photomontages are different from mine.

Here is a link to Alexis's blog
                My photomontage of Alexis Chatfield

One reason why his photomontages are different from mine is we take pictures of different things. He usually does people and I like to do people, but also nature, and more. The photo aboveis a self portrait of himself. That is an example of a photomontage. One other difference is since he is so experienced, his are better quality. I just started doing photomontages, so mine are not as good, but I am working on it!

My final photomontage of Star Wars movies one, two, and three.

One example of how images can send of positive or negative messages, is with lighting and shadow. For example, people can feel certain ways, depending on the shadows, if the picture is dark, or if the picture is filled with light. You can experience strong moods from just looking at a picture. Another example is the subject. If your subject is a positive thing, you could instantly feel positive or happy. However, if the subject is a negative thing, you could feel negative. One more thing is you. Certain people feel certain moods for different things. I you happen to love a certain thing, then looking at a picture of it will make you feel positive. Also, if you happen to dislike something than you would get negative messages from it.

With my final photomontage, I wanted you to get a sense of me. I wanted you to know that my subject was meaningful to me. My subject was the Star Wars movies. This subject is meaningful to me because my dad grew up loving Star Wars and he passed down that love to me. Star Wars is now a part of my life. I love it, and I always will, no matter what. They are my favorite movies, and in my opinion, they are awesome.

Well, thats all for now. See you next time! Bye!

2016 Aspirations

Hi everyone! Happy new year! I hope you had a great winter break, a awesome Christmas
, and an fantastic, firework filled New Year! Here are some of my goals for the new year.

One of my goals for the new year is to be more organized. If you know me, you know that I am not very organized! Another goal of mine is to be the best person I can be. I want to be more helpful and positive all the time so people around me will be the same. One other goal is to keep getting strait A's and work as hard as I can to get them. I also want to make a lot of new friends for the new year! I want to have new friends so I can meet new people, and that can help me and other people be more happy. I also want be even more happy than I already am, so more people around me will be happy too! New Year, New Me!

The most important goal to me is to be more organized. As I said I am not organized. But, I want to change. A lot of times I forget things, or lose things, but if I am more organized, I can stop that. I can get things done faster and more efficiently. My things will be neater, and I will try to be a lot less forgetful. Since I will get things done neatly and faster, I will be more happy, one of my other goals. My supplies for school, and other things will be neat and each have its own place,so I can find everything easier, faster, and better. I can get more things done in time, and I won't take as much time to do, or find things if everything is where its supposed to be. I will do my homework earlier, and better, when I know where things are.

To fulfill my goals, I will try very hard. I will work as hard and as best as I can to make sure I complete my goals. I will make sure I am doing thing right and to my best ability. I will strive for success and do what ever I can to complete my goals. To be more organized I will make my things neat, try to be less forgetful, and write things that I need to do down on a piece of paper. To be more happy all the time, I will be positive and optimistic, and make other people happy too. To keep getting strait A's I will study even more than I already do, and work even harder. And to make more friends I will approach people I don't know and be friendly.

Happy New Year everyone!!!! Thats all for now. Bye!

Scratch Game Design

I wanted my game to be easy to play and also fun. I also wanted people to think the characters and background were fun too. I wanted the players to like the game. I also wanted it to be funny. The game is easy to play, colorful, and fun. The background is balloons, and you are the unicorn chasing the bouncy ball, and the goal is to touch the ball one hundred times. Then you win! To control the unicorn, you use the arrow keys to move and try to chase the ball which automatically moves by itself. To see how I made my game go to Scratch and see inside. I hope you enjoy playing my game!

I wanted people who saw my game to think it was cool and colorful. I wanted them to like the game and enjoy playing it. I wanted them to like the theme and think it is funny and cool.

Some things about my game is the background. It is fun and colorful. The scene is a party and there is a rainbow of colors. There are a bunch of balloons and it is really fun to look at. Just like the background, my characters are colorful and fun as well. I wanted my game to look like a fun, happy rainbow. Looks like I succeeded! I also wanted my game not just to be fun to look at, but also fun to play. In the game you are the amazing unicorn chasing the orange bouncy ball.  Once you get to one hundred points you WIN! I hope you think my game is colorful too!

On my plat former game, one of the best features is my starfish. I wanted my game's theme to be really cool and have a great color scheme. I used pink on turquoise and pink on black. It ended up looking really nice. However my characters did not end up moving smoothly. My game did not end up functioning very well, but i'm still working on it!

I think my best code that I did on this project was when I was working on the unicorn. Some parts of it were very complex and hard to do but I did it and I think it works very good. I had to get the unicorn to move smoothly around the stage. The orange ball was easier. It just had to move randomly around the stage. The concept was to chase the ball and touch it 20 times.

Invention Commercial

My teams main goal was to make the commercial funny, while also showing the products features. We had to show what the product did, but we had to show it in a creative way. We had to come up with an idea to make it entertaining to watch. We had to spark everyone's interest and keep it. I personally wanted our commercial to be very well made and good. We also had to stay within the time frame given to us. Overall I think we reached our goal. I hope you think so too.

My favorite team moment when we were making our commercial was when we were filming. We were at the beach, and we had a lot of fun. We were dressed up in those silly costumes, and laughing, and we had a lot of fun. We had on the silliest things. A hat made out of a cup, a dinosaur costume, a bunch of other crazy costumes. Alexis even had a caveman costume! That was my favorite part of making the whole commercial. We had a lot of fun making our commercial, and we hope you have just as much fun watching it.

While we were editing we all did a lot of different jobs. I did the music and some voice overs, Alexis did transitions and voice overs Teresa did some voice overs. We all mainly arranged the B-Roll. We worked very hard on our project. All of us did some sound effects. Sometimes we filmed at school but a Alexis and I filmed outside of school at the beach. Teresa could not make it but we still succeeded and did our very best. In the end I think we did very well. So enjoy our commercial for...the Enviro-Protector!

I am very proud of the results for our commercial. I think we did really good. And a lot of the class seems to think so too! A lot of people thought of commercial was funny and creative, and that it was good quality and that it showed how it works, and what is does very well. Some people even voted ours best overall commercial. I am proud of myself and my team, and I hope my team feels the same.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

P3T7_Composition_2015 from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.
I think the most important composition technique is both of the rule of thirds, subject and scenery. I think these are important because, photographers use it a lot. Also it is important because it makes the subject stand out because they are only in part of the picture. The viewer looks at the subject. That is why I think the Rule of Thirds technique is the most important.

The most difficult composition technique to me is forced foreground. A lot of times it is hard on certain cameras to get just that one object clear. It takes a lot of work and carefulness. One single wrong move and the only thing clear could be the background. You have to position the camera exactly right, and you have to get the exact angle. I can improve on this by being careful and cautious. I can also work hard on it.

My teammates are Alexis and Teresa. For our composition project, we all filmed, and spoke. When we were editing I did music, Teresa did titles, and Alexis worked on transitions. we all put the shots in order, and worked hard. To speak for my whole group, I think we did really good on our project. We worked together and in the end, we created something awesome.
