Scratch Game Design
I wanted my game to be easy to play and also fun. I also wanted people to think the characters and background were fun too. I wanted the players to like the game. I also wanted it to be funny. The game is easy to play, colorful, and fun. The background is balloons, and you are the unicorn chasing the bouncy ball, and the goal is to touch the ball one hundred times. Then you win! To control the unicorn, you use the arrow keys to move and try to chase the ball which automatically moves by itself. To see how I made my game go to Scratch and see inside. I hope you enjoy playing my game!
I wanted people who saw my game to think it was cool and colorful. I wanted them to like the game and enjoy playing it. I wanted them to like the theme and think it is funny and cool.
Some things about my game is the background. It is fun and colorful. The scene is a party and there is a rainbow of colors. There are a bunch of balloons and it is really fun to look at. Just like the background, my characters are colorful and fun as well. I wanted my game to look like a fun, happy rainbow. Looks like I succeeded! I also wanted my game not just to be fun to look at, but also fun to play. In the game you are the amazing unicorn chasing the orange bouncy ball. Once you get to one hundred points you WIN! I hope you think my game is colorful too!
On my plat former game, one of the best features is my starfish. I wanted my game's theme to be really cool and have a great color scheme. I used pink on turquoise and pink on black. It ended up looking really nice. However my characters did not end up moving smoothly. My game did not end up functioning very well, but i'm still working on it!
I think my best code that I did on this project was when I was working on the unicorn. Some parts of it were very complex and hard to do but I did it and I think it works very good. I had to get the unicorn to move smoothly around the stage. The orange ball was easier. It just had to move randomly around the stage. The concept was to chase the ball and touch it 20 times.

Invention Commercial
My teams main goal was to make the commercial funny, while also showing the products features. We had to show what the product did, but we had to show it in a creative way. We had to come up with an idea to make it entertaining to watch. We had to spark everyone's interest and keep it. I personally wanted our commercial to be very well made and good. We also had to stay within the time frame given to us. Overall I think we reached our goal. I hope you think so too.
My favorite team moment when we were making our commercial was when we were filming. We were at the beach, and we had a lot of fun. We were dressed up in those silly costumes, and laughing, and we had a lot of fun. We had on the silliest things. A hat made out of a cup, a dinosaur costume, a bunch of other crazy costumes. Alexis even had a caveman costume! That was my favorite part of making the whole commercial. We had a lot of fun making our commercial, and we hope you have just as much fun watching it.
While we were editing we all did a lot of different jobs. I did the music and some voice overs, Alexis did transitions and voice overs Teresa did some voice overs. We all mainly arranged the B-Roll. We worked very hard on our project. All of us did some sound effects. Sometimes we filmed at school but a Alexis and I filmed outside of school at the beach. Teresa could not make it but we still succeeded and did our very best. In the end I think we did very well. So enjoy our commercial for...the Enviro-Protector!
I am very proud of the results for our commercial. I think we did really good. And a lot of the class seems to think so too! A lot of people thought of commercial was funny and creative, and that it was good quality and that it showed how it works, and what is does very well. Some people even voted ours best overall commercial. I am proud of myself and my team, and I hope my team feels the same.

Composition Scavenger Hunt
P3T7_Composition_2015 from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.
I think the most important composition technique is both of the rule of thirds, subject and scenery. I think these are important because, photographers use it a lot. Also it is important because it makes the subject stand out because they are only in part of the picture. The viewer looks at the subject. That is why I think the Rule of Thirds technique is the most important.
The most difficult composition technique to me is forced foreground. A lot of times it is hard on certain cameras to get just that one object clear. It takes a lot of work and carefulness. One single wrong move and the only thing clear could be the background. You have to position the camera exactly right, and you have to get the exact angle. I can improve on this by being careful and cautious. I can also work hard on it.
My teammates are Alexis and Teresa. For our composition project, we all filmed, and spoke. When we were editing I did music, Teresa did titles, and Alexis worked on transitions. we all put the shots in order, and worked hard. To speak for my whole group, I think we did really good on our project. We worked together and in the end, we created something awesome.

Cracking the Code
I think everyone should learn how to code. I think this because, many jobs have coding qualifications needed. Coding is also good to know because there might be many times in life when you will need code. Only about one out of ten schools offer coding classes. I think that number should be much higher.
My first experience with code was actually very recently. I was fun and an exiting new challenge. At first it started out hard, but as I keep working on it, it became much easier and more fun. Before I did it in my GT class I had never done it before. It was fun, interesting, challenging, and I will defiantly want to do it again!
If I could design any program or game I would probably decide to design a program that you can do a bunch of things on. You could play fun educational games on it. You could also chat with all your friends. When you need to know what something means, you could look it up on the program. The possibility's would be endless!

My Humorous Monologue
Hi everyone! This time I will be talking about my humorous monologue. One thing I learned from doing this project was how to write a humorous narrative. We learned how to make it humorous so that it appealed to others. We could make it personal or just random. Another thing was how to film and plan our monologues so, we could use them. After that we learned how to use iMovie to create our finished video.
Padding is when you start to record on the camera but you leave a small bit of time before you actually start speaking. This is important because, the camera can delay. If you don't do this some of your footage might get cut off. You would not want that would you? Padding your clips is very important and if you don't do it your clips might be cut off.
My weakness for this project was getting everything to be perfect. It was very hard to make everything work. I had to get the B-Roll clips all in order and they had to go with the story. There was also a certain timeline I had to keep on, and that was hard as well. My greatest strength for this project was writing it. I mean my cats are amazingly funny right? Haha. Really though writing the plan was my strength for this. It just came to me.

Comedy Writing
I think a good sense of humor is important because everyone needs to just loosen up and have a little fun. I mean, no one has to be serious all the time right? When you laugh, most of the time you are happy and when you are happy everyone around you is happy. It is awesome to be happy! Remember, be positive and have a good sense of humor! After all, you know what they say, laughter is the best medicine!
To write a humorous narrative, first, you would have to think of something you think is funny to you. It can be a personal thing about you, or a funny fictional story, or anything you want. Next you should think of how to word it. Think of how your wording could go with the story. Then, you would write it out. Another tip would be to be humorous. Finally, you should be as creative as you want with your narrative.
My comedic monologue is about my cats, and how they are so "amazing". They really just sleep all the time. It is funny because, in case you have not noticed, they aren't really that talented. Or amazing. They barely even move at all. That is why it is funny. I was being sarcastic. They are just really lazy.

Motivation Poster
The requirements of this post are two text layers, one with my manifesto, and another with my personal quotes. I also have to have four image layers, my three symbolic images that symbolize me, and one portrait of me. One of my design requirements is kerning. Both text layers need to fill the whole page. Some more design requirements are triadic color scheme, visual balance, blending option, and adjustment layers.
For my motivational poster I first had to upload my three symbolic images to photoshop. Then I had to copy and paste my personal manifesto, and personal quotes. After that, I had to organize my images so that they fit the box. When that was over, I kerned the text so that it fit the box as well. Finally, I colored the text and my image layers. That is how I did it.
In conclusion, my biggest challenge was time. I had a hard time with finishing it all in time for the deadline. How I improved was, I worked on my motivational poster as much as I could. I worked my very hardest to do the best I could. Always work hard to improve, because if you work hard, you can always get better!

Personal Manifesto
Hello, my name is Katy Hoesel and five interesting facts about me are... I love cats because they are awesome, and adorable. I love to act, dance, and sing. I think reading is amazing. Purple is my favorite color. I have very good vision and can see small things from far away.
You are a star, shine like it. Celebrate life. Be like the ocean, go with the flow. Rise above the highest mountains. Sparkle and shine. You can do it! Always do the best you can. We all have bad days, so focus on the good. Always smile. Don't let your fears control you. Encourage others. Always be happy. Live life to the fullest.
My personal manifesto is encouraging and inspirational. It encourages you to do the best you can and be the best you can. It shows you that you can be truly amazing by just being you. It inspires you to push past your fears and shine. It motivates you to rise to your highest, push yourself to do your best, and of course...be yourself and no one else!
